After both founders met, Jaime Lynn & Arinayo Apara, understood that although their journeys were completely different, their struggle was similar. More important than that, what they were able to learn from their experiences; were identical. Jaime, being born with Congenital Heart Disease and Arinayo, being born with Sickle Cell Anemia both agree that without the struggles associated with these conditions, they would never be who they are today. They understood that the qualities they share based on their journey, were qualities deemed “Imperfectly Perfect”. Being Imperfectly Perfect, is about being proud of who you are and what you have gone through in life, and using your journey to inspire those who are going through the same or similar situation. It is about finding the positive in situations, even the difficult ones, and teaching others how to do the same. It is about wanting to be part of a movement to change societies interpretation of “perfect” and help create an improved definition, a definition which deems perfection as an inner quality that can only be developed through life struggles. Our goal is to help those going through life altering experiences, while educating the youth on the beauty of inner strength. We help them learn how to apply specific tools to their life, which will enable them to be proud of themselves, regardless what is happening in their life.
